SHADOW

You stood at the edge of me, with a paintbrush in hand and coloured me in. Coloured my skin.
My shadow weeps and all of the colours bleed into one.

APOCALYPSE

If the world was upside down
Prayers would rise and in rivers drown
And raining would be heavy words
Of regret, flimsy apologies, misery
When they hit the sky,
They'd dissipate, picked apart by
Swarms of deranged birds
Shared out and passed around
So "forgive me for I have sinned"
Might just end up "give me"
And when you put palm to palm
Head to knee
Was all you wanted to say in the beginning.

SIX FEET UNDER

How much further before you see, that I'm slipping through the grains of the Earth.

CRYSTALLISED

There is beauty in my lies,
Spawned out of crystallised light
That blinds your eyes
Numbs your tongue,
Dumbfounded you look on
At my spinning masterpiece of,
Not white lies, slipped out
Scratching the surface, softly softly
Or pernicious lies, thought out then
Spilled out one after the other
Double-edged sword drawing out
Hoarse cries, that drone on and on
Just perfectly see-through lies
That you see right through.

THE UNDERPASS

Standing under the underpass,
Looking up
Rain falls on tears
Falls down, hits the ground
Like a pin-pointed arrow
Narrowly missing my feet,
That are buried deep in the puddles
Of rising anguish
My legs are caving in, ready to give obeisance to the sea lord
Standing under the the underpass
Looking up

WANDERER

There is no path I can walk,
Where I can leave my own footprints first
The Earths surface has been covered,
Over
I follow you, always trailing behind.

LIGHT WORK

We're on borrowed time
Darkness will soon want it back
To black
To night
So show off your light
Let me get beneath the skin
Of life
And begin
Tearing at the layers with alacrity
Leaving my mark
